2. Privacy for the RobetorVR app (Meta Quest)
Summary: RobetorVR does not require a user account and does not request your name, email address, or Meta profile ID from Meta. The app processes device, room, input, and, where applicable, audio data for its VR functions. Most processing takes place locally on the headset. Data is transmitted only when you actively use network features, to the selected server and, where applicable, to other participants in the same multi-user room.
2.1 What app data does RobetorVR process?
- VR tracking and input data: The position and orientation of the headset, controllers and, when enabled, hands, as well as button, grab, and movement input. This data is required to operate the VR interface, move objects, and represent your position in the virtual scene.
- Room and environment data: Scene/room geometry and spatial anchors supplied by Meta Horizon OS when you grant the relevant system permissions. They are used to place virtual robots and objects in relation to the physical environment. RobetorVR uses Passthrough to display the environment but does not store or transmit raw camera images.
- Microphone and speech data: The app records audio only when you intentionally start a speech or audio feature and grant microphone permission. By default, speech recognition is performed locally on the headset using the included Whisper model. The temporary audio file is deleted after processing. If you explicitly enable server-based speech recognition or audio chat, the recording and resulting text are transmitted to your selected RobetorVR server; audio chat is also made available to participants in the same room.
- Locally stored content and settings: This may include app settings, server address, room name, encrypted room credentials, downloaded or imported robot/3D models and media, user-created scenes, object positions, robot states, teach programs, text, and cache files.
- Multi-user and server data: When you connect to a RobetorVR server, the server technically processes the IP address, connection data, and a pseudonymous app/client identifier. Depending on the features used, your chosen display name and avatar, room name, chat messages or audio chat, avatar position and orientation, and synchronized scene, object, robot, program, and media data are transmitted to the selected server and authorized participants in the same room. Room passwords are stored on the server only as salted hashes.
- Downloads from Dücker Robotics: When the app retrieves the available robot list or downloads a model from duecker-robotics.de, the web server processes technically necessary access data, in particular the IP address, time, requested file, and browser/device information. This is necessary to provide downloads securely and reliably.
2.2 How does RobetorVR use app data?
The data is used solely to provide the RobetorVR features you select: displaying and operating the VR/MR environment, placing and simulating robots and objects, storing your projects and settings locally, speech control, providing downloads, and, when enabled, multi-user synchronization, chat, file transfer, server-side calculations, or server-based speech recognition.
RobetorVR contains no advertising, marketing, or user-tracking functionality. Dücker Robotics does not sell app user data or use it for personalized advertising.
2.3 Recipients and disclosure
App data processed locally is not automatically transmitted to Dücker Robotics. When network features are used, the operator of the RobetorVR server you select and, for multi-user features, authorized participants in the same room receive the data required for that feature. If you enter a self-hosted server or a server operated by a third party, that server operator is responsible for processing on that server.
Meta Platforms Technologies and Meta Horizon OS process device and platform data as providers of the headset, operating system, and app store under Meta's own privacy terms. RobetorVR does not receive the user's email address or Meta profile ID from Meta.
2.4 Retention
Local data remains on the headset until you delete the relevant content in the app, clear the app data through the operating system, or uninstall RobetorVR. Temporary recordings used for local speech recognition are deleted when processing is completed or cancelled. Local cache files may remain until the relevant content, app data, or app is deleted.
Room, project, chat, audio, and media data stored on a RobetorVR server remains there until it is deleted through the available features or by the server operator. Technical log data is retained only for as long as necessary for operation, security, troubleshooting, or legal obligations.
2.5 How can users delete their app data?
- On the headset: User-created objects, files, programs, and chat histories can be removed using the applicable delete functions. All RobetorVR data stored locally can be removed by clearing the app data in the system settings or uninstalling the app.
- On a multi-user server: Chat and room data can be deleted through the available app or server administration functions. For a self-hosted or third-party server, please contact its operator.
- On a server operated by Dücker Robotics: Send your deletion request to duecker@duecker-robotics.de with the subject “RobetorVR Data Deletion”. To help us identify the data, include the room name, display name, and approximate period of use, but never send your room password. We will confirm the request and delete identifiable data unless legal retention obligations require otherwise.
3. Legal bases
Where applicable, processing is performed to provide the requested app features or to perform a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), based on our legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or based on your consent or intentional activation of an optional feature (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect, for example by revoking microphone or room permissions in the system settings.
4. Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You may also withdraw consent with future effect at any time and lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

5. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We update this Privacy Policy when RobetorVR features, data processing, or legal requirements change. The current version remains publicly available at this URL.
